2010/2011 Season Fees
Fees for the 2011-2012 Season, Mites through Bantams, are $1095. Additionally, prior to the beginning of next season, each player must register directly with USA Hockey. The cost of registration is $35 and is in addition to the $1095 season fee – further instructions regarding the online registration process will be provided prior to the conclusion of the 2010-11 season.
The payment policy for the 2011/10 season is the same as 2008/09 policy. Planning for next season begins in May during the placement process -- SMS is required to make ice rental and league contract decisions as early as June for the following year. As a result, SMS needs to get an accurate count of the number of players committed to our program in order to plan appropriately.
The registration and payment schedule follows:
First Payment, February 10, 2010: $150 non-refundable fee is due prior to the first try out session. Please note that try-outs are expected to commence mid to late February -- your child will not be allowed to participate in try outs until this fee is paid in full. Every player that participates in try-outs will be placed on a team next season.
Second Payment, May 15, 2010: $445. Player placements will occur towards the end of May, and team announcements will be made after the Annual Board Meeting. The second payment must be received in full in order for your child to be placed on a team. A refund of $200 will be issued if a player requests to withdraw from the program provided notification is received in writing to the President or Treasurer prior to July 1st.
Third Payment, August 1, 2010: $400*. The third and final payment is due August 1st. Refund requests will only be issued due to extenuating circumstances and at the discretion of the Board. Any member with an outstanding balance, and/or that has not provided a USA Hockey registration number, prior to the beginning of the season will not be eligible to participate in any practices or games.
Late Fee: A $25 late fee will be assessed for each week that payment is not received after August 1st. For example, a $25 late fee will be assessed if payment is received between August 2nd and August 8th. A $50 late fee will be assessed if payment is received between August 9th and August 15th, etc.
* Additional Child Discount: There is a $100 discount for each additional child that participates in the travel hockey program. Note, goalies that pay a discounted goalie fee, as further described below, or Mite In-House players are not eligible for the additional child discount.
Goalie fee: if the goalie has been in the SMS program at least two previous years, with the last year being a full-time goalie and the player is at the Pee Wee, Bantam or Midget age classification, the fee will be $225, plus the USA Hockey Registration Fee. Please note that the goalie fee only covers primary league play, a separate fee will be assessed for goalies that choose to participate on second league or middle school teams. Families that pay a discounted goalie fee are not eligible for the additional child discount.
Midgets: Fees for the Midget program TBD. Registration for next season will commence in early May. Further details will be provided at the conclusion of the season.
Little Devils Learn to Play (formerly Mite In-House): Fees for Mite In-House are $495, $50 due at registration, with the remainder due by September 30, 2010
Second league and middle school team fees vary dependent on participation. Further details will be provided at the conclusion of the season.
