All players will be evaluated and assigned to a SMS team that participates in the Valley Hockey League (VHL). Team rosters are selected based on overall skill level to ensure competitive play at the appropriate level of USA Hockey - Tier A, AA or AAA.

- 2011 & 2010 (12U - PeeWee)
- 2009 & 2008 (14U - Bantam)
Initial player evaluations are held at the end of the previous season. All players are subject to being moved to a different skill level during the season as deemed appropriate by coaches and the Board of Directors to ensure player development and safety.
Season begins in late August and runs until playoffs in March.
Practices are held at Navin Arena, New England Sports Center or Valley Sports. Games may be played across the metro Boston region.
Teams practice 2 times per week at Navin Arena in Marlborough or Valley Sports in Concord.
Teams will play 30-35 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on weekends.
Home and away SMS jerseys and socks required, and can be purchased at Brine's Sporting Goods. Uniform ordering is only available once per season, typically in June. Players will be notified when the online store is open.
Expect team managers to collect funds to cover tournament entry fees.
Our 10U, 12U and 14U VHL Travel Hockey programs are for players in Grades 3-8. The program consists of players from Sudbury, Maynard and Stow. Players from surrounding communities are welcome.
The core mission of the SMS program is player development. The season begins in late August and will run through March.
